Brunch is a verb; you don’t go to brunch, you DO brunch. And nobody does brunch better than my family. We may workout like fools, but damn do we know how to eat — especially if it’s a holiday or birthday. For Easter this year my parents and I drove to the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel and indulged in the hotel’s Easter brunch buffet: no time limit, bottomless mimosas (in my case, champagne), and food everywhere. Indulgence never looked so tasty.
You don’t need a gym to get a killer workout — all you need is your body and a sense of adventure.
I traveled to California to visit my parents for Easter and took full advantage of the gorgeous weather. We drove to Palm Springs and turned Mount San Jacinto into our own personal jungle gym. Why workout inside when you can get results outside with a gorgeous view and an extra dose of Vitamin D? Continue reading
A little over a month ago I participated in a bar crawl and day-drank my afternoon away (typical). That night after sitting in the bathroom contemplating if I would ever feel normal again, I stumbled into my room, started seeing stars, and hit the ground at the foot of my bed.
Luckily a bruised knee and ego were the repercussions. But that moment proved to me I needed a lifestyle change…and fast. Continue reading
Welcome to my fitness journey — you’re in for one hell of a ride.
My name is Brittany and I’m a 20-something year old living in NYC who still applauds herself when she folds laundry the same night she finally does it. I decided to combine my passion for health and fitness with my love for writing, and now here we are.
Why do I consider fitness a journey? Because I have no end goal. I don’t work out and eat mindfully to see a certain number on the scale; I do it to maintain an active lifestyle and be my best self . Some days I meal prep, some days I sit on my ass with a glass of wine and indulge in the Food Network. I’ve started embracing workouts as a way to strengthen my body and move rather than compensate for a shitty diet (cereal and wine lack nutritional value, I know I’m heartbroken too). But don’t be fooled — I still indulge. I’ve been down the food deprivation road, and let me tell you how miserable that was.
Life is about balance. And while I may topple over trying to master certain yoga poses, I strive for balance in my everyday life. Yes, I love protein smoothies, hearty salads, and big bowls of fruit. But I also love cheesy pizza, ice cream, and big bowls of pasta. My life is all about trying new things — whether it be a Brazilian Butt Lift workout (and laughing my ass off while I dance like a fool in my living room), a new recipe, a new restaurant, or traveling to foreign cities.
For a deeper insight of who I am and my intentions for this blog, head over to my About page. In short, I’m a fitness enthusiast who lifts weights and wine glasses, and I do them both pretty damn well.
Cheers to living your best life!
